We estimate our salmon at about 170 survivors in the tank.
Holy Salmon!  We got back from Christmas break and this is what we saw!  They are not eating yet, but we will start feeding them soon.  Some still have a little yolk sac, but you almost can't see it anymore.

Below is a video of our salmon "scooting" along the bottom of our tank.  They are starting to swim up and by the time we are back from Christmas break they should be swim up fry!

Welcome to another exciting year of Salmon in the Classroom!  This year we got our salmon on November 15th.  (It was a Saturday--our teacher came into school extra to put them in the tank.  She said she drove four hours to get them from the Wolf Lake Hatchery!  On Friday November 21st they started to hatch.  On Monday November 24th they were still hatching.  They did not look like salmon and had "jelly bellies" or yolk sacs.  They will use this and not start eating until after Christmas.  I can't wait to see what they look like!
Here are the eggs.  The black dots are their eyes.

We are waiting for the fish to hatch!
This is the FIRST salmon to hatch!  It does not  look like a fish yet!

Here is a whole group of hatching salmon on Friday afternoon.
